We love fireworks, and of course it wouldn't be a celebration without them. But green! Amazing Irish green fireworks. (And other colors, too. But lively green!)
There's a parade, but it's not anything like we have here to celebrate the day. Forget about the green fedoras and leprechaun hats and floats. They have beautiful costumes such as we see at Carnival in Rio! The theme for 2007 is legendary creatures of Europe with huge colorful inflatables & performing groups from India, Africa, Europe & the US.
The events are different than those that we participate in to celebrate St. Pat's. They have a pirate mascot with a treasure hunt instead of leprechauns. They have cultural events such as film screenings, concerts in halls & churches, street performers, comedyfest, and children's art workshops.
